| If you live in Northwest Arkansas and your weekends are a little too quiet, let me introduce you to Arrowhead Speedway… the sort of place where the air is permanently scented with racing fuel, burnt rubber, and adrenaline. It’s not in Arkansas, technically it’s in Colcord, Oklahoma but it’s so close you could throw a rock across the state line and hit it. Picture this: a semi-banked 1/3 mile dirt oval built for speed, fury, and just the right amount of chaos (mostly under control). Arrowhead isn’t one of those weekend tracks where drivers “wave politely while passing” on club track day. Nope… this is a proper motorsport coliseum where Modifieds, Factory Stocks, and Sport Mods fling themselves into the corners like they’re trying to tear the laws of physics in half. This track has an everchanging personality! The clay surface starts smooth and pliable, promising a tame evening… but as the laps pile on, it roughens. It becomes jagged, aggressive, unpredictable. Each groove adds a new dimension, forcing drivers to adapt, anticipate, and respect it. By the final heat, the track isn’t just a surface; it’s an opponent, that endlessly encourages every driver to pick a new line on every lap. When the green flag drops, the sound hits you in the chest… somewhat of a thunderous hum of furious pistons. There is no doubt you will feel the rubber grit and track dirt on your face as you watch from the stands. This is not a place for timid driving. It’s for gladiators of the oval… drivers who treat the throttle like a light switch and believe in only looking forward. ![]() What makes Arrowhead even better for Arkansans is the commute: from Bentonville, it’s barely an hour. From Fayetteville, even less if you drive like you’re late for your own feature race. Trust me, the trip is worth it! The facility is modern, the bleachers are comfortable, and the concession stand serves “Fair Food” from multiple food trucks, so get ready for a corndog, funnel cake, and a snow-cone! In short, Arrowhead Speedway is proof that you don’t have to live in a major city to get world-class short-track action. All you need is a sense of adventure, a love of horsepower, and a willingness to have your hearing slightly diminished. (Bring some ear plugs) Ready to check out Arrowhead? You are in luck!
